What do we fear?

A fear culture is emerging in higher ed, where we only see destruction in the current disruption. I wonder if a useful aphorism for us is:

“Barn’s burnt down… now I can see the moon.”

Disruption is a kind of destruction, yes. As is transformation – we lose something, we grieve, if we are healthy, we move on – to what is newly possible.
