What’s the most important thing in planning for teaching?
In February I start a new class, Information Technology Strategies. It is a condensed course – it lasts 5 weeks instead of the usual 10, but the workload is the same. Very intense.
So – what do I think about as I start to prepare? At the course design/syllabus development phase it is a matter of weaving together three things:
- Revisit my philosophy of teaching and learning.
- Review design principles.
- Explore the content and the context and determine learning activities.
And take a big breath and remember that this is fun.
